I love baby wearing. I love the snuggles, the easy kisses, the sleepy babies and the ability to use both of my hands. How about not having to lug a stroller all over the place? Ah, there is nothing quite like baby wearing. I had come across the Sleepy Wrap and wanted to work with them on a review of one of their Sleepy Wraps, but my daughter is 16 months old now(and getting heavy!) and they really are more ideal for smaller babies. I cant wait to see what other style of carriers they put out, but in the meantime, I was very fortunate to get to do a review of their Sleepy Bear. This has to be my favorite stuffy(what we call stuffed animals). My daughter adores it almost as much as I do. Have a looksie:
It is a Mama Bear(or Daddy bear I guess!), wearing a little baby bear in her very own Sleepy Wrap! How stinkin adorable is that?! I just adore how it teaches kids about baby wearing. I always say, you don't know how to do what you aren't exposed to. I was fortunate to be exposed to breastfeeding women and baby wearers, so it seems absolutely normal to me. I have run into women who think baby wearing is strange and who couldn't breastfeed and I often wonder if any women in her family ever breastfed around her when she was little. I love the exposure. In my mind, the more exposure, the better! In fact, I am so antsy to get to buy her her very own little baby carrier to wear her dolls in! I know she is still young, but I think it's adorable. So you can see how much I love this bear with her adorable baby bear. There is something so sweet about it and I am so glad to have this in our house! My daughter carries it all around! I need to get a picture of her with her bear asap.
Okay, so let me get you a couple of facts. This bear is made from extremely soft Organic cotton. It is intended for ages 3 and up, but my daughter is only 16 months old and drags this bear all over the place. She needs her own baby carrier to carry her bear wearing a baby bear haha! There are no small parts on this bear, so I don't quite understand why it is intended for ages 3 and up. The Sleepy Bear contains no pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, chemical fertilizers or any other chemicals of any kind! That is my kind of toy.
I can say this is the softest stuffed animal we own and it promotes baby wearing! The Sleepy Bear sells for $19.95 - a GREAT price for such a nice sized bear made from Organic cotton!
You can only purchase this bear from the list of retailers listed here.
WIN IT!!! - US and Canada Only!

ReplyDeleteBabies sleep better when worn. I LOVE my Sleepywrap. I got two of them before my daughter was born. She's now 23 lbs and 11 months, but I still wear in the sleepywrap all of the time. I tell all new moms that this is a MUST Product.

ReplyDeletefun fact:
ReplyDeleteWhat does the term "Kangaroo Care" mean?
This is the term coined when a mother holds or wraps her premature baby skin to skin on her chest. Instead of constant care in an incubator more and more doctors are encouraging mothers to wear their tiny infants (such as in the Sleepy Wrap Upright Newborn/Infant Hold).

Babies that are worn on their parents cry less (and who doesn't love THAT?). I wore a sling with my daughter and she absolutely loved being close to Mama--it was also so much easier to nurse in public!
