Pregnancy Update #1

So I will be 10 weeks on Friday, October 15th, so I'm a little late in posting my first pregnancy blog, but I am doing it! It seems like life is slowing down a little bit for me and I am able to get more things done.

I got this from Web MD about Week 10:

"Congratulations! Your baby is now officially called a "fetus." It looks a little like a medium shrimp, measuring 1.25 to 1.68 inches from crown to rump, and weighing a little less than two-tenths of an ounce. You might be reassured to know that most physical malformations, when they occur, have occurred by the end of this week, so the most critical part of your baby's development is safely behind you. But other developmental processes, such as those affecting behavior and intelligence, will continue throughout pregnancy. Eyes are covered by skin that will eventually split to form eyelids."

My little shrimp baby lol.

Pregnancy complaint #1? I am freaking tired. More tired than I have ever been during any other pregnancy. I am sure this is because I already have two little ones to chase after, but it sucks. I am SO over it and I cannot wait for the second trimester to start so I can regain a little more energy. It's all I can do to change diapers, get them clean and dressed, fed and keep my house clean on a daily basis. I could literally sleep all day long and the days my Husband is home, I nap like there is no tomorrow.

Pregnancy complaint #2? ALL this baby wants is meat and it seems to always be something we don't have in the house. I am also addicted to Trader Joes Caribbean Fruit Floe Bars and I buy boxes at a time and they don't seem to last.

Things I am grateful for:

Such a wonderful Husband and children who let me sleep

NO morning sickness this time around. Can I just say this is a BLESSING. With both of my other pregnancies I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum like no other and spent several days in the hospital. Zofran was my best friend and I was sick from day one until about 20 weeks and ended up losing 20 pounds or so. It was pure hell. God has graced me with an incredibly easy pregnancy this time around, so I am trying to not complain too much about being tired!

All in all, things are going great! I have my 2nd doctor's appointment on Monday October 25th, which is super exciting. It seems like October is going by really quickly! The first weekend in October we went to pick pumpkins and apples and the second weekend was my son's 4th birthday party! So, I think we have just had way too much going on the last two months. I am happy things are slowing down and that I am getting caught up on blog duties. I am also loving Fall and am already daydreaming about Christmas(I know I know slap me)!

Are any of my other readers expecting right now? When are you due? I would love to chat about it and share experiences! I will try to post weekly updates, as well as some video and belly shots! This Saturday morning I am going to do the Intelligender test(hello giveaway!!), so that should be fun and I will for sure post pictures now that I found my camera!

Okay guys, take care and thanks for being so awesome and patient while my blog has been a little boring. MUCH more fun stuff is coming asap!

P.S if you are pregnant, DO NOT google "10 week fetus" and then look at the images. I was bombarded with aborted babies, and it made me really sad. :(

  1. 10 weeks is early to announce! I told my mom at that point and I think I announced on my blog at 16 weeks. But **congrats!** And yay for no morning sickness! Mine wasn't THAT severe and it was still fairly debilitating for awhile.

  2. I know like 5 people who are pregnant and even more who just gave birth. It is really making me want to have another baby- but I think Zach would kill me! LMAO He soooo does not want another baby. :(

  3. Congrats. Good luck with your pregnancy!

We just lost a baby @10 weeks in July,it was one of the hardest things I have ever been through. I announced it on my blog about 2 weeks before ( I also get huge fast because I carry double the amniotic fluid than normal so it was obvious) and I held a HUGE baby event to celebrate with tons of baby products and giveaways. It made it an extra hard time to complete it all, but we are doing well now and we hope we can have another someday soon.

  4. The first trimester was definitely the hardest for me. I would totally have done two third-trimesters just to avoid the first one! :-D But you are just a few weeks away from the second trimester! You can do it!

I hope you continue to feel good! They say not all of your pregnancies are the same, and I hope for yours and my sake(if we get to have another one) that, that means they wind up being better!!!
Tell Jon I said congrats! I will try to write again when I get back to a computer!
