I am(was) a Swiffer addict. I was obsessed with my Swiffer and used it all the time. I tried to green mine by using microfiber towels instead, but it isn't designed for that and it really didn't work well. I also disliked that the Swiffer bottles are impossible to refill. What's a green girl to do? Buy a Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop of course!
I had a feeling that I would love my Rubbermaid Reveal, but I had no idea HOW MUCH I would love it. Even my Husband loves cleaning with this mop! It's so simple to use, take a look:
All you do is fill the bottle with your favorite cleaner, snap it into place, and then stick a microfiber pad on the bottom. One thing I HATED about Swiffer is how crappily the pads stayed on the bottom. With this baby there is NO concern of the pad slipping off. The microfiber pads are not only sturdy, but they easily and effectively grip onto the bottom like no other!
The two unique features about this spray mop are the washable pads and the refillable bottles! No more buying one time use pads and the ridiculously expensive cleaner! This not only cuts down on waste, but it is much more affordable as well!
So we all know it is the best green choice, but how well does it clean? Amazingly well! The spray is not concentrated in one spot like the Swiffer, it is spread all across the cleaning surface, just like in the picture above. The trigger is extremely easy to squeeze and I found the Rubbermaid Reveal to be taller than the Swiffer, which makes me feel like I have a longer reach. Our floors were squeaky clean in no time at all. My Husband says he loves the way it feels, which makes me laugh. Okay Hunny, you can clean all of the floors!
We could not be happier with this item. My Husband loves that you can buy extra microfiber pads and bottles at The Home Depot, as well as places like Target.
I highly recommend picking up an extra bottle and a couple of extra pads to have on hand.
Here are a few extra tips from Rubbermaid:
- Do NOT use bleach in the bottles or wash with bleach
- Reusable microfiber pads are machine washable and should be washed with like colors. Each pad can be washed up to 100 times!
- Do not wash with fabric softener, as this will make the pads less absorbent(cloth diapering mamas you know what I am talking about!)
- Tumble dry on low or air fluff settings

I love filling my bottle with hot water, adding 2 to 3 drops liquid dish soap and 2 tablespoons of vinegar!
If you purchase the Reveal Spray Mop directly from the Rubbermaid website, it will cost you $29.99 and it includes the spray mop, one bottle and one microfiber pad.

Disclaimer: I received free product to review. I was not paid to write this and all opinions are my own. Any mention of Swiffer was done by me and Rubbermaid does not specifically talk about Swiffer on its website at all. As a consumer, I am choosing to compare the two products I have used.
