I absolutely adore getting the opportunity to tell all the mamas out there about their eco-friendly baby options. Not only are green options great for the Earth, but they are healthier for us as well! It really is a win-win situation and I feel like green changes should start at birth. For some reason, it didn't occur to me to make these changes until after my daughter was born. I lived in an area with farmers who thought organic meant nothing and that it was silly to call things organic. I guess I just didn't know better. I feel really strongly about eco-friendly baby products because, as parents, we want the best for our babies. I truly believe the best means no harmful chemicals. I think you would all agree with that!
During my ongoing Baby Shower Bash I thought it would be very beneficial to feature several different eco-friendly and healthy baby bottles. I personally breastfed, but would have loved safe bottles to put expressed milk in. I also want formula feeding moms to know their options. The more information out there, the better. I came across Green to Grow glass baby bottles and knew in my heart they just had to be included in my baby reviews. Lucky for me, they agreed and I am still thrilled.
Green to Grow was launched with a line of BPA-free plastic baby bottles after the founders, Michael and Shelly, learned about the dangers of bisphenol A - a neurological, developmental and reproductive toxicant(so disgusting!). They were frustrated with the lack of options available to parents, and rightfully so! I absolutely LOVE that they believe it is impossible to separate what is best for babies from what is best for the Earth. They really do go hand in hand! We need to leave the best Earth that we possibly can for our children. Green to Grow uses 100% recycled paper in all of their packaging and corporate materials. They have also teamed up with 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1% of their annual sales to environmental causes.
For review, I was sent the Green to Grow 4 ounce and 8 ounce baby bottles. I am so thrilled to have these, especially being pregnant with my third! I wasn't able to actually try these out with a baby yet, but I gave them test runs anyways. I firmly believe we should test drive the items we give our babies. I want to know what the nipples feel like and how the bottle feels. These bottles rock! I think glass is so much prettier than plastic, and the rings and lids are a gorgeous green color. I think that is very fitting for this company. I love the nice weight of the bottles, I dont feel like they will break easily if they are dropped and the glass is formed in a curvy way to make them easier to hold.
I chose glass over the BPA free plastic ones they also offer, because I prefer it! Glass is easy to use, quick to clean and highly recyclable! All of the plastic rings and lids are BPA free, so no worries there. The nipples are made from high quality, medical grade silicone and all of their bottles are independently tested in the US and Europe to ensure they meet the highest standards for quality and safety. I love that they have them tested in two places for peace of mind.
The 4 Ounce Glass Twin Pack can be purchased on the Green to Grow website for $14.99 and they come with Beginner, slow flow nitrosamine-free silicone nipples for 0-3 months.
The 8 Ounce Glass Twin pack can also be purchased by Green to Grow and they sell for $15.99. These also come with the Beginner nipple.
Aren't the designs on the bottles just gorgeous? The bottles are also compatible with most standard neck breast pumps, including Medela. I love that!
If you are interested in the BPA-free plastic version of these bottles, you can check them out here.
They also carry tote bags, baby cloths, extra nipples, welcome home sets and other accessories.
I am so excited to have this amazingly sweet company as part of my Baby Shower Bash. I cannot wait to do a follow-up post after my baby is born. I love having something so safe and so beautiful on hand for my newest little one.
I HIGHLY recommend Green to Grow baby products to all of my pregnant and new mom friends out there. If you want to check them out for yourself, head to the Green to Grow website.
